My Holiday Moodboard Share

Good morning everyone,  Monique here sharing my first layout for this month's holiday challenge.
I have to say, I was so excited by the moodboard - it is right up my ally.

I love all the colours and the relaxed summer vibe of this moodboard.  This is what I came up with:

I was itching to scrap some photos from a recent holiday to New Zealand.  This is a beach in Napier, it was covered in pumice - so different from the beaches we were used to.  So very very pretty too.

I was inspired by the beautiful colours of the moodboard, and I clustered my embellishments vertically, imitating the sign in the picture.

I used the absolutely gorgeous Blue Fern Studios Wanderlust Range.  I just love Blue Fern Studios papers - they are so thick they take just about any mixed media I like to throw on....hehe.

First, I primed my "Seascape" paper with clear Gesso, then I scraped over some Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Chalk paint in Terracotta.  I love working with this paint - it dries quickly and goes on so smoothly.  Just divine!!  To add the blue, I rubbed my Distress Oxide Ink onto my craft sheet, then sprayed the colour with water and applied like regular ink - swiping across the page and flicking it onto the paper.  once it was dry I painted over a thin layer of white gesso to tone down the colour.  Next, I added some layers with this Prima Stencil and some texture paste.

I layered up my photo mat using the "Calling Cards" and "Souvenir" papers and added my photo to the page.  My flower clusters were created with the Blue Fern Studio "Wanderlust" flowers, and the Blue Fern Studio Seaside Treasures Chipboard, and some yummy Prima Finnabair Art Stones.
Finally I added my title - taken from the Blue Fern Studio Wanderlust Words.

Here are some close ups:

Here is a full list of products I used which you can find in the Scrap Matrix Shop:
