"Hello" with Alison Callcott

Morning peeps!

It's Alz back again with another guest DT share featuring PaperArtsy stamps. I've had a scrappy girl crush on Jo Firth-Young for as long as I first stumbled across her PaperArtsy stamps. I love, love, love them and JOFY09 would have to be my most favourite of all. Why? Because its fun and funky, and its different.

Hello

PaperArtsy stamps used ..

I wanted this page to have a clean, graphic feel to it, but to still be bold and fun. I started off by using the masking technique I shared previously to create my background. Initially I was going to leave it completely black and white. Then I thought monochromatic maybe. Not knowing where I wanted to head I stamped some extra circles, fussy cut them, and coloured them in. Initially I used Prima Watercolor Pencils which I find deliciously rich and creamy, to colour some a citrus green.

Although the page would have worked without further colour, I just had to add another. Using a paint brush, I coloured in some more more circles a mid purple with a Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst Spray. I attached all of these circles to my page with foam tape to give the background a little dimension.

Wanting to keep the layout Clean And Simple, I chose to use just one main type of embellishment, with only a few added extras thrown in for good measure. My primary embellishment were some fabulous Kinder Kreations chipboard pieces I inked with an Archival Ink Pad and sponge dauber. I find inking my chipboard pieces less messy than painting them, and it gives them a really nice matt finish.

To add some height to my primary embellishment cluster, I added two strands from a Crystal Stem, together with bits and pieces from my stash.

My layout wouldn't be complete without my favourite butterfly of the moment (from the EDY02 stamp set). By slotting the stamped and fussy cut butterfly in on top of already raised embellishments, and using Scrap Dots to add height under the wings, the butterfly sits nice and high, and permanently so.

Oh and before I forget, I added the minutest amount of Kindy Glitz and Glossy Accents here and there on my stamped circles and to finish the page off, taking care to protect the photo, I gave it a good splash or two of my new favourite product, 13 Arts Splash Glitter Ink.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by. Til next time, be cool!

Cheers .. Alz  :)

'Good Morning World!' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Everyone,

Elisa here from the design team with my second share of the month and in keeping with the Paper Artsy theme I decided to create a fun vibrant Art Journal page featuring the fun and quirky mini Zini stamps and the Tracy Scott Paint Set.

Here are a few of the Paper Artsy stamp sets i pulled out to use on my projects for this month along with the Tracy Scott paint set, i absolutely loved the colours in this paint set.

Here is my Art Journal page featuring a quote that I absolutely love!

'Good Morning World, your little ray of sarcastic sunshine has arrived!'

To start my page I gesso'd, then I spread the paint across the page with an old piece of cardboard, you could use an old flybuys or card etc or a silicone brush. I used different pieces of cardboard for each colour.

I then stamped my little 'Paper Artsy Mini Zini stamps' on the page and also on a seperate piece of watercolour paper so I could hand colour the main girl in with the paints using a paintbrush.

Loads more stamping and colouring using a paintbrush and last details of shading and using a white paint marker pen to add my 'rays' behind my main feature girl.

Here are some close ups of the finer details.

Well that's it from me today, I will see you all in the NEW YEAR !!

Thank you for supporting Vicki and Scrap Matrix and also the design team :-)

Dont forget our Paper Artsy challenge still on in the Scrap Matrix Shares (facebook group) with a wonderful prize from the store!! enter today for your chance to win ....

Paper Artsy fun with Anguree

Hello dearest friends

I  back today sharing this layout I created with the gorgeous

E³ Tracy Scott 10 (A5 Set, Trimmed, On EZ)

 by Paper Artsy.

Products used:

       Dylusions paint

I started by stamping ad nfussy cutting the stamp on scrap paper to get an idea of how my page needed to be layed out.

I then  painted randomly with Cherry Pie Dylusions paint and added a little Finnabair Alchemy Paint. Next I added some White linen Dylusions paint on my craft sheet and stamped into the paint and then onto my background. I added extra shapes repeating the stamping process to fill in the blanks.

NEXT I stamped my image on white cardstock and embossed it with black embossing powder. I repeated this a couple of times.

I coloured the stamped images using Twinkling H20s and boy are they awesome. These paints are so beautiful bright and shiny, I don't know why I have not really used them before.

Once all my images were coloured I started fussy cutting all the layers. The bottom one was fussy cut in its original form. In the following layers I left out a part of the design in each fussy cut image, working my way up till only the star was left. To add texture and creat a bit of depth all these umages were layered and affixed with double sided foam.

Last but not least I affixed some 13 arts stickers to pre painted scraps of paper and cut them to size.

Thank you so much for visiting us today. I hope you enjoyed your time here and are very much inspired on how you could use your stamps.
Make sure you play along for a chance to win one of these fabulous stamps.

Till next time have fun and enjoy the rest of the festive season.

flower canvas by Elena Smoktunova

Hello dear friends!
With you is Elena and I want to show you a multilayered flower canvas.
I have added a small photo of myself at the sea. I love this photo and therefore I have made with it a beautiful canvas.
I very much like to do multilayered projects. The layers are more interestingly in my opinion, of course it requires more materials, but it is worth it.

Thanks for looking!
See you!

Rebecca's First Paper Artsy Share

Hi Everyone and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Rebecca here with you today to share a little OTP makeover. This little box was previously a gift box for a beautiful coffee cup. Rather than throw away such an excellent sturdy box I decided to give it a little sprucing up. Paper Artsy Stamps, Gelatos and Prima Watercolours created magic here and transformed trash to treasure.
I was fortunate enough this month to work with this GORGEOUS set of stamps designed by Tracy Scott for Paper Artsy. I believe this set of stamps is so versatile, they can be used for all paper crafting - mixed media, card making, layouts!!.

Faber Castell Gelatos, Prima Water Colours, Finnabair Mica combined with the stamping created the exact look I was hoping to achieve. Black stitching to provide a nice boarder. A coat of Soft Gloss Gel to seal the colour and give a nice sheen.

I very much look forward to seeing all your creations in the Paper Artsy challenge this month!

Wishing you all a very happy and creative day.

My Paper Artsy Challenge "Sisters"

Hi Everyone,

How are you all going with your challenge this month?  I am popping by the blog to share my challenge layout.

For this challenge, I went way out of my comfort zone, for a start I used no patterned paper at all - simply unheard of for me...lol...

I used this gorgeous stamp available at Scrap Matrix

Then I stamped a whole heap of various flowers on white card.

Next I painted them all with the gorgeously bright Dina Wakley Media Heavy Body Acrylic Paint.

While they dried, I took out a piece of white cardstock and stamped some more flowers diagonally down the page.  I then painted them with the Dina Wakley paint too.  Something I have learned over time is how to create balance on my page.  Basically, large is heavier than small, and dark colours are heavier than light colours.  So, when stamping, if I had a large image at the top, I was careful to either cluster a few smaller images, or paint the large image in a light colour, and the small image in a darker colour.
While I waited for all the paint to dry, I worked on my photo mat.  I cut a strip of black cardstock, and simply layered across some drywall mesh, some washi tape, some lace and some of these gorgeous German Scrap Renaissance Petite Black paper strips.

I backed my photos in some red coloured, and then put it all together.  I then adhered  the photo mat across the base cardstock.  Once I cut out the other painted images, I layered them over the flowers painted on the base cardstock to add depth to my page.

I used the "sisters" word from the 13 Arts Art Journey chipboard sheet.

Here are some close ups:

The products I used on this, available at Scrap Matrix, include:

That's it from me for now.  Hope you enjoyed my post, and don't forget to have a go at this month's challenge.

Paper Artsy art journal page.... by Lynn Good

Morning and I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  I still cant believe how quickly this year has gone.

It is Paper Artsy month at Scrap Matrix and I have created an art journal page using the wonder Paper Artsy Stamp created by Darcy - you can find the stamp in the store here

I began this page by cutting up some paper from an old encyclopedia and gluing them to the art journal page.

I have then added colour using Dylusions paints - Lemon Zest and Calypso teal

and the pushed the colour to the background using Dylusions Paint - White and a brayer

I have then stamped on heavy duty cardstock the images, coloured them in with Dylusions paint pens.  I then fussy cut them out and stuck them onto the art journal page.  I apologise for no photos of this step but technology got the better of me - again!

I have adhered everything to the page using Finnabar Soft Matt Gel - I also applied this to the top of the image and around the image as I can then use the Stampers Big Brush pens and have some time to blend them around - the gel allows this time.

Here are some close ups:

To make the images "pop" I have outlined them with a white paint pen.

I have also done some dots, dashes and scribble marks on and around the flowers.

I have used Faber Castell Pitt Pens - Olive, Walnut Brown and Warm Grey around the images to also get them to "lift" off the page.

Here is a link to the products that I have used and are available at Scrap Matrix

thanks for stopping by and I hope that you get a chance over Christmas to have a go at our challenge this month - dont forget to tell us which Paper Artsy stamps that you have used - you can then be in with a chance to win a voucher from Scrap Matrix!
