Paper Artsy Tags
with Lisa Amiet

Hello!
It's Lisa here on the blog today to share all things
Paper Artsy with you.

I have created a set of tags.

I wanted to feature some of the gorgeous 'Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paints',
and with this gorgeous 'Pumpkin Spice' colour, my daughter's favourite and requested colour.

I have given my tags a nice coat of the paint,
I have then inked the edges using my
'Distress Oxide in Vintage Photo'.

I have then used the '7 Dots Studio Garden Party Chevron Stencil'
and the same ink to stencil randomly, vertically, on my tags.
I have then used the '7 Dots Studio Pixelated Snowflake Stencil',
and modelling paste to stencil through randomly.

Next, I have used pieces of torn 'Dina Wakley Media Collage Background Papers',
along with some stamping using my 'Paper Artsy ESA08 Stamp Set'.

Next, I have used some scrunched and inked pieces of a doily, along with some pieces from the papers in the '7 Dots Studio 6 x 6 AirMail Paper Pad', layering as I go.

I have then added some of the '7 Dots Studio AirMail Die Cut Elements'
layering with some stamped images and some metal embellishments.

I have then used some of the 'Prima Epiphany Flowers',
some gauze and some of the 'Jute Trim'.

Some more pics :)

To finish I have added some of the '13Arts Journey Stickers'

I hope you like what I have created.

Until next time!

Lisa

Paper Artsy Month - Art Journal Page with Lynn

Hi everyone, I am up on the blog to share my second page for this awesome month - Paper Artsy month.

I have used Jo Firth Young Stamps - I am so in love with these at the moment - the quirky flowers are really speaking to me

Here is my art journal page

This page started off as a "mop it up" page.  This is where I had brushed off excess paint onto a blank page.

I decided that it looked like the wind going in a direction and would incorporate that in the placement of my "Flowers".
I had gaps to fill in the background and used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paints in Bubble Gum, Cherry Red and Zesty Zing  colours.  I have then stamped out the images from JOFY74 as the head of the flower and the stem from JOFY75.

I then got very excited and forgot to take photos!!!!  So I will have to tell you instead!

I have coloured the flowers using Dylusion Paint Pens, as well as a Posca Paint Pen for the White areas and highlighted some of the black areas using a  Tombow Twin Tip Marker Pen

I have also made some marks around the outside of the page to give it a border.

I have taken some close ups which I will detail the extras that I have done (note is now on my desk - "TAKE MORE PROGRESS PHOTOS"!

I have used the White Posca Paint pen to add some white highlights to the flowers and scribbles around the edge if the page

I have added some detail back into the leaves with a black pen.

I have stamped a saying from the stamp set EKC28 by Kay Carley

Well - thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have found some inspiration from my page to create an art journal page, layout or project using a Paper Artsy product and put a photo into our Scrap Matrix Shares Page to be in the draw to win a gift voucher - it is that easy :)

Everything You Can Imagine...

Welcome to the Scrap Matrix blog.
Today it’s my turn to show you my second project for ‘Paperartsy’ month.

They have a great variety of paints, stencils and stamps. Have I told you how much I love these products?    I have to say that my crafting budget takes a huge hit every time they have a new release.  My current favourites are those designed by Jo Firth Young and I’ve used them for this project.

So if you feel like hiding from the world’s troubles, I suggest you hop in your craft room, (or designated area), and play along for a while.  You will need:

·         A canvas, approx. 20 x 26cm
·         White Cardstock
·         A craft sheet (optional a piece of scrap paper will do)
·         A brayer
·         Paperartsy Paints – Summer Sky, Guacamole, Magic Moss, Zucchini, Granny Smith,  Gold, Snowflake, Wisteria, Lavender, Purple Rain, Eggshell and Truffle
·         Paperartsy Stencils PS139 and PS164
·         Paperartsy Stamp sets JOFY 81 and JOFY 82
·         A stamping platform or stamp positioner
·         Archival Ink Coffee

So this is what you’ll need to do.

1.  Sponge Summer Sky and Guacamole randomly onto the canvas.  Then put a little Magic Moss onto your craft sheet and load up your brayer. Run the brayer over your canvas in the sections you want some colour. Repeat with Wisteria, Gold and Snowflake.  (Snowflake will tone down some of the colour, so do this only if you feel it’s too bright).

2.  Sponge Magic Moss through stencil PS139on either side of the canvas.  Next, lightly sponge Guacamole over it again but only on the top of the ovals. In between these, Sponge Granny Smith through stencil PS164, and again sponge Zucchini but only on the top of the leaves.  I also sponged Zucchini and Magic Moss through PS164 in a few other random places just to fill in some gaps.

3. Next I stamped two of the large flowers from JOFY 81 using a stamping platform onto white cardstock with Archival Ink Coffee. Using this as a guide I painted the stems using the greens listed above and Snowflake and once dry, placed the cardstock back in the stamping platform and re-stamped the image over the paint. (I forgot to photograph this).

4.  I repeated this process six times (but only using the flower part of the stamp). Painted each section of flower that I wanted to cut out and piece together.  This is much easier (but more time consuming) than trying to paint each section on the one flower.

5.  Using the grid stamp from JOFY81, I stamped it randomly over the canvas using Magic Moss and Gold.  The double flower stamp from JOFY82 was stamped using Archival Ink Coffee onto the bottom right of the canvas.  I painted the circles in Gold.  Using the purple paints listed above, I sponged them onto a piece of cardstock and stamped the flowers again.  I cut out the petals only, (these will be glued onto the stamped images later).  Next I sponged the green paints onto cardstock and stamped the two leaves from JOFY81 and cut them out.

6.  Before gluing anything onto the canvas I went over the edges of my images with a brown pen.  I used a PITT pen but any pen/marker will do. A colour lighter than the Archival Ink is best.

7. Arrange images onto the canvas and glue/attach them using gel medium.  Next I added highlights with a white Posca pen and stamped the quote using Archival Ink.

If  you have any questions about this project I'm happy to answer them.  Just post it in the Comments section.

You don't have to use the same stamps I have.
I'm sure if you pop over to scrapmatrix.com and have a look at the Paperartsy products on offer, I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.  They are sure to bring you a little bit of happiness.   Also don’t forget to share your creations with us on the Facebook page, you may even win the monthly prize. Well, that’s it.  I hope you like it.

Take care.

Paper Artsy Mania- Tanya Froud

Hi Guys!

Tanya here with 3 more paper Artsy inspo shares here,

First is my Gypsy Girl.

I stamped some of the leave shaped patterns  from Tracey Scott 38 stamp set to form a crown and painted them with Paper Artsy Paints
I then watered some right down to create a watercolor wash to paint her face.
I added highlights with Scribble Sticks
Next I added lots of flowers and foliage from the Art by Marlene Die cut booklet

Whilst playing with the super cool Tracey Scott 38 stamp I imagined that they could  make some cool flowers so I grabbed a gel print that I had done previously, using Paper Artsy Paints
I stamped the leaf type design and added some doodles to build the stems. I picked a quote from the Art by Marlene Die cut booklet

and a bonus one for you all,

Products used are ...

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you can find some inspiration for your next project using Paper Artsy products...there is so much to choose from!

Paper Artsy month: Elena Zinski

Hello.... another fabulous challenge this month and so many fantastic Paper Artsy products to choose from. For this example, I have chosen products by Elena Zinski. I love that her stamps have character that are always fun to use.

I love these 'mices' to pieces!!This is set number ZA45.  I started the base of this card blending distress inks through paper artsy stencil PS016. I added some scribble text from Dina Wakely stamp MDR52807. I brushed over with paper artsy paint 'slimed'. I stamped the mouse and clock on separate paper. and coloured.
I drew my own balloons to suit this card.
An easy card to make and will be a great thank you card.

Another favourite, is this set of quirky sheep, ZA26.   For this card, I have used a gel print background and then based my colour scheme around the colours in the print. I made a strip to go across the centre using sheep from this set and masking them using Archival Ink 'watering can'. I have added the last sheep using 3D paste, raising her from the page.

. This set of fish has endless possibilities, ZA31.
Once again, I have used a gel print background. I love having a gel print day and then my prints are on hand for card making. This print looks like splashes of water in a rock pool (to me!)
I stamped the fish on a separate card and coloured. I created a porthole using circle die cuts and for the  background inside the circle, I painted a few random paper artsy colours  (aqua duck egg, banana and lake wanaka) and cut the sheet to size.
I tucked the Octopus behind the centre piece to finish this fun card.

Have fun using these products ..... looking forward to your creations.

Paper Artsy Month with Tam

Hello my creatives!

Tam back again to share my second creation for this month's awesome PaperArtsy Challenge.

I loved the stamp set EGL05 when it was recently released.
I think Vicki is out at the moment, but as we are such big PaperArtsy fans, just give her a hoy and she will order you one in!
I love it!!

So let's see where this one began.
First up create a background....

Start by randomly spreading some Sargasso.
Don't think about it too much.
Then whilst your paint is wet, add a stencil and wipe off some paint with a wet baby wipe through the stencil.
I used PaperArtsy Stencil PS158 (by Tracy Scott)

I then repeated this with the Bubblegum Paint, and then finally just a splash of the Zesty Zing.

Time to add....

I really adore the leaves in the stamp set, so gathered a few green PaperArtsy paints in Slimed, Green Patina and Lawn.
As I knew I wanted to do some stamping and fussy cutting I grabbed my fave paper - PaperArtsy Smooth Cardstock. It just copes so well with water and mixed media.
So hard to find a good paper like this, so when it was released, I was pretty excited and stocked up.

I added the green paints randomly for my leaves.
Doing this gives a lovely variegated look to the leaves - much more natural.

Now time to create some flowers.
I chose a few different colours in the the purple/blue tones, and some in the red/peach tones.
I then repeated the above process, ready for the stamping.

Looks a mess like this, but once stamped and cut out they look just great....

I just love the little birds in the stamp set and knew I wanted to incorporate these into my art journal page.

Once cut out, I felt the little bird needed a tail.
Yep! That flower bud stamp will work just fine.

You might be able to see my page underneath my hand.
I got distracted at this point and forgot to take photos. Whoops!
I hand painted a branch using PaperArtsy Paints and then added a few leaves stamped in black directly onto the page.

I then added my stamped images around so that the birdies sat on the branches and the flowers and leaves were clustered.
I adhered them with soft matte gel.

As you can see in the above pic I added some detail to the birds and flowers using a white pen and a touch of paint.

I finished off the page by adding in some of the stems, by rubbing through the NEW PaperArtsy stencil PS164 - I just love this stencil, and by rubbing paint through, it gives these little stems that seem to tie everything together.

Again, Vicki has sold out, but if you contact her, she will order you one in.
Or choose a different PaperArtsy Stencil - so many to choose from.

As you can see in the below pic, I've used it over and over already.
Scrap Matrix is always restocking PaperArtsy as they are all our favourites!

Finally, I added a stamp quote from a PaperArtsy Stamp Set ETS31...

As that step was the finishing touch, let's take a look at some of the details.....

I love seeing your PaperArtsy creations appearing over on our Facebook Scrap Matrix Shares Page.
The possibilities are endless and every entry is in the running to win a voucher for the Scrap Matrix Store (so you can buy yourself some more PaperArtsy goodies! lol)

That's it today,
See you next month or in Facebook land.

Luv Tam
