Hello Scrap Matrix fans!
It's Lisa here today to share some Mandala inspiration with you.
I have created an Art Journal page,
using this month's Mandala / Zentangle challenge as inspiration.
I have used my 'Dylusions Creative Journal Large',
and I have sealed my page with a coat of 'Dina Wakley Media Clear Gesso Medium'.
I have then used my 'Red Tin Roof Doily #4 Large' Stencil,
and 'Finnabair Modelling Paste' to stencil the mandala shape onto my page.
I have then used my Distress Ink Pads in 'Peacock Feathers', 'Broken China',
'Weathered Wood' & Faded Jeans',
that I have stamped onto some plastic packaging and added water to it.
I have then smeared this over my page.
I have then used the same technique with my Distress Ink Pads,
in 'Picked Raspberry' and 'Wilted Violet'.
You can see that there is an area that I must have missed with my Gesso, doh!
I will cover that later.
I have then traced around my stenciled mandala, with a black pen, to define it a bit more.
I have then added some more of the same colours to a piece of white cardstock.
I have then drawn own some feather shapes to fussy cut out.
I have then used these on my page, in clusters,
like they are hanging from a windchime.
I have then drawn in the strings for the feathers to hang from.
I have also doodled some beads in the frame of the windchime mandala.
I have curled the edges of the feathers slightly for a bit of dimension,
and the feel of movement.
I have then used a cut-up quote from the 'Dina Wakley Media Collage Word Pack'.
I am in love with these tissue paper quotes, they speak to me lol.
One of my favourite mixes of colours I think.
I hope that you like it too!
Maybe you'll get chance to play along with this month's challenge?
Until next time!
Lisa
