'Believe' Art Journal Page Tracy Scott

Hello all!
It's Lisa here today to share some inspiration for this month's challenge!

This month is

I was so excited about this month's challenge as I am in love with Tracy Scott,

 and her fabulous products.

This is what I have created

I have started with a page in my 'Dylusions Creative Journal - Large',
and I have used the 'Grungy Grid Stencil from Finnabair',
and I have applied some 'Distress Oxide in Broken China' with a 'Blending Tool' 

I have then blended using my '7 Dots Studio Droplets Stencil',

and 'Distress Ink in Mustard Seed' .

The next layer was using the '7 Dots Studio Cargo Letters Stencil',

and 'Distress Ink in Black Soot'.

I have then again used the 'Grungy Grid Stencil' with 'Modelling Paste', randomly over my page. 

I like to double up with the same stencil, 

as it gives more depth and texture without losing the pattern.

Next I have used some sprays on my page.

I have used some Lindy's in 'Clam Bake Beige', 'Sassy Sapphire' 

Up next is some stamping, using my 'AAll & Create #3' 

and '7Dots Studio Northern Lights Clear Stamps',

and Distress Inks in 'Weathered Wood' and 'Wilted Voilet' 

Next I have used my feature stamp from the

'Paper Artsy Eclectica ET502 Stamps' by Tracy Scott. 

I have used my 'Ranger Archival Ink' to stamp them out, 

as I will be adding more liquid to my page. 

I have then started to add some colour to my stamped images,

 painting them, using a variety of mediums. 

I have used a 'Dylusions spray in Lemon Zest'. 

I have also used some Lindy's Sprays in 'Shabby Turbine Teal'

I have also used some Distress Inks,

that I have watered down on my messy mat,

in 'Picked Raspberry', 'Spiced Marmalade',

and 'Wilted Violet'.

I am in love with these bubbles! 

I really wanted to have lots of bright fresh colours in them.

I have added some more of the 'Sassy Sapphire'. 

Oh bubble heaven! 

I am really happy with how this page turned out. 

I love the effect of the liquid mediums with these bubbles. 

I hope you like what I have created.

Hi there!!! 

 Tanya here with some bright blooms inspired by Tracey Scott... Nothing beats bright colours on black backgrounds.. they just POP. 

To create this page I started with glossy photo paper and sprayed different Dylusion Sprays on and then I spritzed with water to help move the colour and dried fully.

 I made a fair few different color samples then selected my favorite one. 

I also stamped some background on the black page with white ink.

 Next I stamped flowers and butterflies from Paper Artsy Tracy Scott Floral Stamps 

 I then fussy cut the flowers all out.

Once cut, I layered and stacked them onto my page mounting them at varying heights  with foam tape.

 I added a scribble border in white pen to finish the page.

Tracy Scott - journal page

Hello,

I had so much fun with this page and found it quite therapeutic! 

This is not an original style.

 I have been inspired by many others but it was certainly fun creating my own page using  this method. 

Using Tracy's stencils, I started by outlining my page with a fude ball pen and heat setting the page with my heat gun.

I used two stencils: Tracy Scott Stencil 141 and Tracy Scott Stencil PS125

  I had a wonderful time colouring in, using Dina Wakely Scribble Sticks . I used a watercolour pen/brush with the scribble sticks. 

On a separate piece of white paper, I painted some random shapes.

 I used Paper Artsy Zesty Zing, Dina Wakely Lime, Dina Wakely Tangarine,  Dylusions Crushed Grape and Dylusions Postbox Red. 

Once the paint had dried, I stamps these gorgeous critters from the Tracy Scott stamp set ETS27.

 I cut these out and added them to my page along with stamping the words  from the same set.

This method would also make a very easy card.

Tracy Scott Inspiration by Tam

Hey there beautiful creatives.

What an EXCITING month!!

Not only do we have a very cool Tracy Scott Challenge.....but she's also teaching classes at a 3 day workshop at Scrap Matrix!!!!

We just love her to bits.

So what better way to celebrate her, then to make October ALL about her!!!
Tracy mania is in full swing!!

So, my turn to share my creations.

Lately, I've been playing around a bit, creating some watercolour animals.

I thought I'd incorporate some Tracy-ness into them.......

Yep two gorgeous colourful birds.

Take a closer look at their tails......all Tracy Stamps!!

So let's take a look at how they came to be.....

Let's start with that gorgeous Flamingo!

I named him Floyd.

Yep so funny right?? 

Pink Floyd!!!

I began by grabbing a sheet from my Art by Marlene Large Album.

I then loosely sketched Floyd in pencil.

And began the watercolour process....

On a side note, I've tried a few different papers for my watercolours. I love the Paper in the Art by Marlene Journals.  It's so thick and can handle a LOT of water)

Once dry, I got out a mix of Tracy Scott stamps....

I began to add them using a masking technique we learned last year at the Tracy Scott event.

Stamp each of your flowers onto cardstock and then cut them out...

NEVER throw these away, these can be used over and over for many projects.

Begin by stamping your first flower, then cover it using the mask you have just cut out.

Line it up as best you can.

Then stamp your next flower. And repeat.

This pic shows the process....

Continue until you fill up his body.

You'll see mine aren't perfect.

That's ok.

They can be fixed up later....

Once they are all stamped, I then coloured them in with various watercolours.....

I also drew in any missing lines with my Fudeball pen and added some white Posca Pen too, just for a few highlights.

I then went in and added more depth of colour to Floyd.

I added fine details with pen and finished with lots of paint flicking!!

I really love it.

The flowers really suit his flamboyant style. (and those lashes!)

Ok, onto the second creation.....

Mr Peacock!!

I began by going through some of my older Tracy Scott stamps.

ETS09 is one of my faves that I come back to over and over.

I use the circles and flowers a lot, but thought it was time to look at those leafy sprigs....

Some see leafy stems, I see Peacock Feathers....or plumage!!

My favourite watercolours are Art by Marlene.

I've been using the 'Bold and Bright Set' for a while, but not long ago I got the 'Bright and Whimsy'.

Time to burst into the box.

It has some gorgeous blues, so  peacock is perfect!!

I began by sketching out and adding some base watercolours to the page.

Once dry, I began stamping on that glorious tail....

I then went in and filled in the details, with black pen.

Plus I added more colours and depth to Mr Peacock.

Finish with those flicks of paint.

The more flamboyant and bold....the better!

The only thing missing is a name....

It's a boy as the colourful peacocks are.

He needs something flashy and gorgeous and proud and proper.

I'd love you to let me know.

Our New Challenge.....Tracy Scott Mania has begun!!

I've been bursting with excitement, waiting (very impatiently) for the first of the month so I can share this challenge with you.....

Yep around here, the countdown is ON....

Tracy Scott is HERE in Australia, and it won't be long until she is on site at Scrap Matrix in Victor Harbor teaching a stack of glorious bright classes.

For those of you who came last time Tracy was in the country, you know what a treat you are in for.

For anyone that hasn't been before.....be prepared for something special.....

So to celebrate the wonder that is Tracy Scott.

We are celebrating her ALL month long!

Her products are on the top faves list for so many of us.

So get inspired, channel your colour goddess and PLAY with ALL things TRACY!!
