'Spread your Wings' by Elisa Ablett

Hi Crafters!

Elisa here from the design team with my latest project for Scrap Matrix, a mixed media canvas featuring all sorts of goodies including 7 Dots, 13 Arts and Scrap Matrix metal and embellishments.

Here is a peek at a few of the products

Here is my project -

Let me show you how I created this canvas!

Step 1 - Gesso your canvas and let dry, glue down your Paper Lace - German Scraps and lightly gesso over the top

Step 2 - Using a 13 Arts Stencil and white modelling paste and palette knife, add some texture to your canvas over the top of your lace.

Step 3 - Wait until the modelling paste has dried and then glue down your 7 Dots studio - Dreamscapes die cut elements and chipboard

Step 4 - Add your colour to your canvas, I used a combination of 13 Arts Rainbow Colour in Brown and Yellow Amber, Ayeeda Water Inks, Ayeeda Chalk Mists and Ayeeda Splash Inks in Gold. I started adding colour from the inside of the canvas along with sprays of water and then tipped the canvas to create the drips, I like to dry my layers of colour inbetween. I also splattered Gold Ink in places over the colour.

Step 5 - Add Ayeeda 13 Arts Light Gold Mica Flakes with gel medium that drys clear and some more splats of gold.

Step 6 - Gesso your Scrap Matrix Metal with 13 Arts Primer. Then once dry add colour to your metal using the 13 Arts Rainbow Colour, Inks and paint. Making sure it is distressed by dabbing away some of your colour with a baby wipe

Step 7 - Glue your metal embellishments on the canvas and tie down your twine in a cross pattern. I also used glass dots to add more texture and flicked white 13 Arts ink onto the canvas.

Finish off your canvas by gluing down the last of your embellishments and adding your title over the top of the twine.

Here are some close ups of the finer details -

That's it from me today! I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial step by step and my project.

Hugs

Scrapbook layout - 7 Dots - by Deb Pulford

Hello Scrap Matrix Friends, Deb here with my second layout featuring the fabulous 7 Dots Studio Dreamscapes. Even after this layout I still have plenty of product left to keep creating with.

I started with a black and white photo of my hubby taken on our Sydney Harbour lunch cruise in May. Although it was a tad overcast and a bit windy, it was still an enjoyable afternoon cruising around Sydney Harbour, and with a window seat to boot!
Anyhow, onto my layout.
I used a piece of 7 Dots Studio Dreamscapes Twinkle as my base. I then cut 2 strips each from the 9mm and Sunrise papers.
I took some tags from the 12x12 Tag sheet, and some of the diecuts from the Elements 6x12 sheet and edged all of these with my Dylusions Black Marble Paint pen. On a side note, if anyone has any tips on how to keep the paint flowing nicely through this pen please let me know! I added some pearl brads onto the tags.
I cut 2 seed heads from the FabScraps Botanic Flowers chipboard set, and using my Prima Metallic Accent Semi Watercolour paints (Supernova) I painted the seed heads as well as my title alpha’s taken from the Alphabet #1 set. When dry I used the paint pen to add detail to the seed heads, to make then stand out a bit from the background.
I cut down the sheet of Sunrise (B side), and outlined this as well. Before adhering to the background piece, I wound the cotton string, Renaissance Black German embossed trim, and a piece of washi from my stash across the middle of the Sunrise paper. I then splashed to my hearts content the Prima Supernova and black paint pen.

When I was happy with the details on the background, I started to assemble my layout.

It came together quite easily – for me When I had the elements in place to my liking on the background, I placed some craft foam under my photo and adhered it to the background. From there I added the seed heads and title alphas, along with some of the absolutely yummy Ayeeda Gold Glitter Ink and…my layout was complete.

art journal by Elena Smoktunova

Hello dear friends!

With you is Elena and I want to show you pages in my future art  journal with photos today.
I will create various pages and add them together to make a unique art journal.
I will insert interesting quotes which are pleasant to me.
I made the pages using my favourite method - these are stamps, sprays, even alcoholic ink.
The process totally bewitches me, and the end result is much more interesting to me!

Here are some close ups of the journal.....

Thanks for looking!
See you!

7Dots cards - Anguree's second share

Hello lovelies

I am back on the blog today sharing these cards I made using the 7 Dots 6x6 Paper Pad 7 Fortune Teller Collection.

6x6" Paper Pad Fortune-Teller

I started by mixing black 13@rts  gesso with Magic powder. Once this was mixed I stenciled it to my foreground paper using a variety of 13@rts stencils. To add some bling I added Stampendous embossing powder.

Next I started to add some paper strips and lace and filigree flowers.

I added some of the beautiful Finnabair Prima waxes to the black German scrap pieces and continued to add bits to each card till I felt that it was complete.

I used some of the 7 Dots Cotton Candy Stickers for sentiments. However nothing stops you from using any other word should you have the need.

Thank you For stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed your time here and will visit us real soon.

Till next time
Anguree

7 Dots Challenge - Lydia

Hi Scrap Matrix blog readers, Lydia back to share my November 7 Dots challenge project.

Now if you are a fan of 7 Dots and know my style and colours I use, you will instantly know that 7 Dot's isn't my typical colour palette and I definitely wouldn't buy it if I had a choice. But by using the 7 Dots collection 'Writer's Block' I created a project that even surprised boss lady Vicki haha.

So here is my project.

To be honest I surprised myself  how easily I was able to create with these rust and neutral colours. I had fun layering too.

I can tell that you are thinking how did you create that rusty cog. Well fun fact it is an old and naturally rusted concrete cutting saw and it worked perfectly for this project and even co-ordinated with the colours in the 7 Dot's collection I was using.

Now aren't these Prima Flowers stunning and perfect for the colours in the 'Writers Block' collection which you can find in the Scrap Matrix store HERE.

I had some fun layering all the different patterned papers from the collection including a die cut tag from the collection.

And how cute are these tickets from the die cut sheet too.

I hope you have all be enjoyed by my creation and all the other creative designers with their projects too for this challenge. If you want to join in on our monthly challenges be sure to head over to our Facebook group Scrap Matrix Shares to share and join in on the fun Scrap Matrix challenges.

Have a great day/evening and I hope to see you all over on the Facebook group.
Lydia xxx
