You are loved .. with Alz

Morning peeps!

I'm back today to share another project for the Scrap Matrix Aall and Create challenge. I was going to count how many sets of Aall and Create stamps and how many Aall and Create Stencils I have but then thought 'maybe not'. Lol.

You are loved

Do you remember the baby I featured on my layout "Cherish" last month for our Love Is Sweet challenge? This is her! It was a big day for Selina and her sister .. Selina's sister started school which left Selina at home, alone for the first time. Her mum took her to one of our local beaches and this photo reached out to me .. I think Selina looks so lost without her big sister for company.

I loved creating this layout. As you know, I'm a big fan of creating my backgrounds on patterned paper. This is a Riddersholm Design paper, a brand I've not worked with before. It didn't disappoint. A great weight to handle any mixed media I threw at it, and a white core which, although I didn't do it on this page, is great for distressing. Plus the designs are great and being double-sided if you don't like one side, just flip it over as you're sure to love the other! Oh and this peach colour featured in the Huntington Garden collection is sublime!!

To start with I applied white acrylic paint on my background with a small brayer, and then applied Opaque Matte Ranger Texture Paste to which I added Finnabair Art Ingredients Opal Iridescent Mica Powder in Peach. This was my first time playing with the Mica Powder and my results were a bit hit and miss, I think. You can clearly see the colour of the texture paste has changed, and in my close ups below you can see the shimmer, but I suspect this might be one of the colours which shows up better on black. I'll have to test it and see, unless of course you know in which case I'd love it if you filled me in! Anyways I've used Aall and Create stencil #7 here.

Once my texture paste was dry I used Aall and Create Stencil #10 and a Walnut Stain Distress Ink to sponge circles to each side of my page.

Whilst I had the Walnut Stain Distress Ink out, I watered some down and generously flicked it around my page with a paintbrush. I love the effect of the different tones as it dries on the various surfaces.

Right about now this page is coming together quicker than I can blink, or at least it seems! I stamped circles from Aall and Create stamp set #3 with Archival Ink - Monarch Orange onto Riddersholm Design Huntington Garden Daydream patterned paper. I also cut a couple of tags from the patterned paper to adhere behind my photo. After cutting out my circles, I sanded their edges to help provide a little definition when they were stuck to my background.

Using the Walnut Stain Distress Ink and some recycled tissue paper I stamped a border, of sorts, with Aall and Create stamp set #3.

I trimmed the straight side and then wet the tissue paper, roughly following the really messy side of the stamping, and tore the excess tissue paper away.

Tissue paper is super malleable so rather than adhering it to my layout flat, I smeared the back of it with a glue stick and kind of 'ruffled it up' a bit in two different strips as I stuck it onto my page. I painted a chipboard Zen Leaf from Kinder Kreations white, added a feather from my stash, and a stamped bird from Aall and Create stamp set #6. I used an orange pencil from the Spring and Fall Prima Watercolour Pencils set to colour in the numbers on my bird.

To finish off my layout I .. randomly adhered my circles with and without foam tape, added my title from a pack of Dina Wakley Media Collage Words. I tucked in a stick pin I made and scattered around some Crystal 'Pebbles'. These are actually made from resin and as such, are ever so cool, light weight, and easily adhered with a drop of Glossy Accents.

Some close ups ..

That's it for me today. I hope you're going to join us as we celebrate aall (ha ha .. get it?!) things Aall and Create at Scrap Matrix this month. Don't forget to share your project on the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook page and to tell us which products you've used from Scrap Matrix. I can't wait to see what you create!

Oh and just quickly before I sign off, all (yes all!) the Riddersholm Design patterned papers are on sale for only $1.00 (bargain!!). Trust me peeps, you want to grab some while you can .. you won't regret it. You can find them all here!!!

Second AALL and Create Layout by . Lynn

Hi everyone, today I would like to share my second project for this months challenge - using AALL and Create products.

This time I have created a 12 x 12 layout:

I will link all the products that I have used at the bottom of the blog.

I have mused one of my favourite 7 Dots Studio collections - Cotton Candy Dreams.
I have cut up some of the papers and glued them down using Matte medium.  Once they were all adhered I have lighted gone over with a coat of white gesso to blend everything together.

I have then randomly stamped using a variety of AALL and Create Stamps

I have then used a Tim Holtz Dot Fade stencil and texture paste over the top of the stamped areas.
When this was dry i have adhered my photo mat and emblishments which include Liquid pearls, cut outs from the Cotton Candy Dreams collection and some bling dots.

Here are some close ups:

Products used:

AALL & Create # 56
AALL & Create # 39

I hope that this has inspired you to take part in this months challenge.  You have until the end of the month to create a project - layout, card, ATC's, off the page, art journal page - the only requirement - it has a product from AALL & Create and you tag a product (or more!) from the Scrap Matrix Store.  You dont have to have a blog - just upload the photo to the relevant album in the Scrap Matrix Shares facebook page.

Til next time - Happy Crafting :)

Tam's back with more ALL & CREATE inspiration

Hi there Scrap Matrix creatives!

Tam's turn again to share some ALL & CREATE inspiration....

This time I scrapped myself!! I know, I know something we all forget to do, or dislike doing. BUT I urge you to get on the other side of the camera and include YOU in your beautiful creations.

Love the bold colours on the black background.

Let's have a look at how this layout came together.

I basically used the same technique for the background as I did last time for my teen boy layout.  If you missed it you can find it HERE.

This time around I decided to use my Tracy Scott Paper Artsy paints....... perfect timing as we have the fabulous Tracy Scott coming to teach at Scrap Matrix later in August!!! Woohooo!!
How cool is that!! As I'm feeling all Tracy inspired, I grabbed her beautiful paints. Oh those colours!!!

Just love them!!!
I didn't use the Peacoat (navy) on this layout as I had black as my base instead.

So I painted them quite randomly on my background paper.

This time I didn't prepare the bazzill first. As I wasn't using a lot of water, I just decided to add the paint directly.

I forgot to take a photo at this point!! Whoops.

Once dry I used AAll & Create Stencil No 4 by the fabulous Fiona Paltridge.
I love that this has two options - for this layout I used the top section and some black gesso.

I love that using this technique kind of looks like the background is part of the painted section. A very cool effect.

Next I stamped onto white cardstock using one of my favourite AAll & Create Stamps - No 20 using an Archival Black Ink.

I didn't worry too much if they didn't come out perfect, as I planned to cut them down anyway.

Next I cut them out.
Love the black and white - reckon it's gonna look pretty striking amongst the bold colours.

I then began layering behind my photos. I used lots of tags and paper from 7Dots Studio.
I also added in some 7Dots word stickers, cause really it wouldn't be a Tam page without them.

I stuck this down using foam tape as I knew I wanted to tuck my stamps in and around the layers.

I used foam tape on some of these too, just to give it a more layered look.

I really love how layering these stamps around the photo draws your eye to that point.

To finish it off, I added my title - I used Mambi Chips for this - I see Vicki has just restocked on them so I'm off to go shopping!!  I need more in my stash.

I hope this has inspired you AALL to go and CREATE!! (groan)

What do you plan to create with the Aall & Create produts - some tags? A layout? A few cards? A journal page?  Well whatever it is, I can't wait to see it.

Just head to our Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook Group and load it into the 'Aall & Create' Album, and let us know what Scrap Matrix Product/s you used.

That's it from me today. Here's a list of the Scrap Matrix Products I used:

Two Art journals pages - by Lynn

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share not one but two projects that I have created for this months AALL & Create challenge.

I recently received as a gift a small Dylusions art journal and couldnt wait to use it.  Because it is small in size (8 x 5) I have decided to create two different pages.

My first page I created was using the AALL & Create Stamp # 81 by Olga Heldwein. I love anything butterfly so had to get this one!  I was that excited that I forgot to do step by step photos!  I did remember on my second page!

I have used Paper Artsy Fresco Paints - China, Smurf and Blue Oyster.

I have stamped the butterfly image onto the art journal as well as a second piece of cardstock.  I then coloured in the butterflies with Vivid Paint and fussy cut them out.  The middle butterfly I also covered with Dimensional Magic.  I have then added a saying that I loved on the left and larger writing on the right. Some doodling and my page was complete - I think I was having a bold and bright day!

My second page I have created is using the stamp #7 by Bipasha BK

I began by painting the page with Dina Wakely paints - Cheddar, Ruby & Sedona
Blending them with a wet wipe as I went

I have then stamped all over the page with the saying stamp in the set in a grey - I have used the second generation stamping method (stamp the first image onto a scrap of paper and then stamp onto the journal without re-inking the stamp) as I was looking for a very "background" look

I have stamped the feathers onto a separate piece of card stock using a purple stamp pad and fussy cut them out  - I wanted some dark and some light so used the same technique  - second generation stamping.

I have then stamped my head image directly onto the art journal page and adhered the feathers underneath using gel medium.  Once dry I have gone around the edges with a watercolour pencil.

I have encircled the head with the words in the stamp pack and then hand written a quote -
I have used the saying that I found on the internet as I think this often applies to me LOL

I have also added a stripe of washi tape down the centre to cover the blue paint from the page beside, and inked the edges with Black Distress Crayon.

Here are some close ups - and at the bottom of the blog I have linked the products used to the Scrap Matrix Store.

Well that is all for me today.

I hope that you find time and inspiration to enter our challenge this month.  You do not need to do a blogpost - simply enter you photo into our Scrap Matrix Shares FB page in the relevant album in the photo section - and dont forget to tell us what products you have used that is available at Scrap Matrix.
