A gift... with TCW.

Hi everyone!

Happy 2021!  Another year done and dusted.

 While this year begins with some sadness, I will be thankful for being able to contribute to this blog, meeting all of the amazing team members and having a wonderful leader.

Today I have a layout to share with you.  I needed to make something in December for this month’s blog, and being busy with Christmas preparations, I decided to kill two birds with stone, so to speak.  This was my mother’s Christmas present.

 

 

In October, my husband’s family had a photo shoot to celebrate his mother’s birthday.  It was a dreary, grey day that threatened to rain at any moment.  We had our photos taken between showers at a local park.  I’m not a fan of having my photo taken but my hubby managed to make me smile with his antics, and the results weren’t too bad.  It’s a pity I forgot to take off my glasses. 

 

 

 

Let’s get started.  My mother has decided to decorate her home in black, white and red, so I went with that colour scheme.  7 Dots Studio’s Homegrown collection fit the bill.  I chose Snicker for my background, cropped it to fit the frame, and covered it with gel medium.  I then sprinkled TCW ColorSparx, Merlot and Fuchsia, over the page and misted it with water.  I moved it around with a brush and even shook the page a little to get it run and dried it with a heat gun.

 

Next I chose my stencil, TCW’s 12” x 12” Jungle Vine, and sponged black paint through it.

 

 

I was going to cut out the flowers on the 7 Dots Studio Attic paper but I didn’t like the result.  I turned the paper over and traced a vine from the stencil, filled in the gaps and cut it out.

 

 

I gathered some paper scraps, stickers and cut outs from the Homegrown range and sponged the edges with Pumice Stone Distress Ink pad and arranged them with my favourite photos. 

 

 

She loved it!

I also did a layout for my mother-in-law using papers from a kit in my stash.  This time I used TCW stencil Scalloped Mandala and Paperarsty paint.

That’s it for me now… I’m off to tidy my craft room and start my next project.

'Count your Rainbows' by Lisa Amiet

Hello!

It's Lisa here today to share a layout I have created. 

I am in love with this month's challenge mood board,

I have created this with these colours in mind.

I have started with a white piece of cardstock for my base. 

I have sealed this with 'Liquitex White Gesso'.

I have then used some of my 

'Dylusions Inks' in 'Postbox Red', 'Lemon Zest' and 

'Squeezed Orange'. 

I have dried this with a heat gun, moving it around as it dries. 

I have also added in a little 'Distress Oxide Spray - Picked Raspberry'.

I have then used my '7 Dots Studio Paint Chips Hatched Stencil' 

and baby wipes to remove a small amount of colour in the stencil areas.   

I have then used the same stencil and 'Finnabair's Light Paste' to stencil onto my page.

I love how the light paste is able to show some of the colour under it. 

I have then added in some stamping, I have used my '7 Dots Studio Hazy Days Clear Stamps' and

'7 Dots Studio Paint Chips Clear Stamps' along with 'Distress Ink Pad - Picked Raspberry'

and my trusty 'Ranger Archival Ink - Black', to stamp randomly over my base page. 

I have then adhered pieces of the '7 Dots Studio Papers - Underpaper' & 'Razzleberry'.

I have also adhered pieces of the 'Paint Chips Element Stickers' 

and the 'Paint Chips Die Cut Elements'.

I have then added some pieces of 'Paint Chips Glaze' paper, 

again layered with some of the 'Paint Chips Element Stickers' 

I have then used some of the 'Embossed Lace Paper - Duchese',

that I have scrunched up and layered 2 pieces, behind my photo matt.

I have used a piece of the 'Paint Chips - Clover' paper to matt my photo. 

I have then added some more of the 'Paint Chips Die Cut Elements' & 'Paint Chips Word Stickers' on my page. 

To finish I have added one of the 'Dyan Reaveley's Dyslusions Creative Dyary Back Chats' stickers and some of the Finnabairs 'Mechanicals Metal Embellishments - Stars',

scattered over my page.

Holiday Moodboard Layout - Lydia

Lydia back to share my project this month to go along side this months moodboard challenge.

This month I decided to go down my path and create a scrapbook layout again. I found this challenge easy and I love how the layout turned out.
With this months project I seemed to have focused on the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio collection "Escape The Ordinary" which is perfect for those beach holiday images.

I love this collection because it gives an arty feel while still being the traditional scrapbooking paper and embellishments. As the main feature of the layout I used some of the patterned papers from the collection and simply cut out some tags. I embellished using the collections puffy stickers and normal cardstock phase stickers.

 

 

For my main title I used a Blue Fern Studio wood veneer 'On the Road'. I didn't embellish or decorate this wood veneer as I quite liked the raw look of it, but it could easily be painted or inked etc.

 

 

Again I used some of the pattered paper from collection to give the layout a type of border and I also added some small embellishments including again some puffy stickers and cardstock phase stickers.

 



I did add some white thread to all the tags to give the whole layout some texture and white on white feel.

 

I really love how this layout turned out and it was fun to play with some paper again.
