Let's take a closer look at the finer details!

Getting the most out of some of my Scrap Matrix metal flower and wing embellishments plus black and silver bling.

To create the gorgeous flowers and leaves, I used an Art by Marlene Stamp stamped with archival ink over the top of a water colour background. The colours were made with Berry ink, teal spray with a touch of pink as well.

Fussy cut your water colour stamped flowers, fairy and leaves and layer to create a dream catcher.

Hand dye some white fabric flowers with your inks to match your layout!

I also fussy cut some gorgeous leaves from the Art by Marlene Collage papers book from Scrap Matrix. They matched fabulously with my selected colours.

Well that's it from me today, I hope you have been inspired to try your hand at the current challenge!

Hugs

2nd project for "teal and purple" moodboard .... Lynn

Hi Everyone, Lynn here to share another art journal page that I have created using the moodboard for March

No photo description available.

I have taken inspiration from the second photo on the left hand side of the hexagon bed cover to create the background of my page

I have used paper artsy fresco finish paints in the teal and purple shades.  Once dry I have used the snow white paper artsy paint through a hexagon stencil.   To add some interest in the page I have adhered some torn dictionary pages around the edges.  The pink tape on the right of the photo is the washi tape down the centre of the page. I find putting washi tape down stops any ink running into other pages through the seams.

I have added white paint and a brayer to push the colour to the background.  I also wanted to take away the starkness of the dictionary paper so I have applied some scribble sticks and water.

I have used a paper artsy stencil and black ink .  Once the ink was dry I have gone over the stenciled area with a black paint pen.

Once the black was dry I have done over it with a white paint pen to get a more defined but yet a second layer background effect.

For some final touches I have added a butterfly as my feature with some smaller butterflies and words.

Here is a list of products used with links to the Scrap Matrix store:

I hope that you are inspired to enter into this months challenge - all you have to do is upload your layout, card, project, canvas, art journal page onto the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook page and tell us at least one product that you have used that is available in the Scrap Matrix Shop.

I hope to see your projects there.

Til next time - happy crafting :)

Tam's loving the purple again!

Hi there creatives

Tam back again and I'm excited to share a few more purple creations with you all.
Why didn't someone tell me earlier that all I needed to do to find my purple mojo was pair it with teal??

I've had such fun playing with these two colours together, in fact, I couldn't stop!
My goal was to create a journal page, but I got a little carried away and ended up with 5!
You see when purple suddenly starts playing nice it's something that you wanna just GO with.

This one was inspired by someone I follow on Instagram - Robin Mead.
Her work is colourful, bright and totally inspires me.

I dug out all my purple and teal paints, and hand painted some trees.
I added some patterns to them by using both hand doodling and stencils.

This stencil by Carabelle had the perfect size shapes to add detail to those trees.

I also used another Carabelle Stencil too.

My second creation is inspired by an amazing artist I follow on Instagram -  Audree Marsolais - again really colourful - her work really speaks to me.

I again used those stencils above and some of these paints....

Dina Wakley paint in 'Turquoise' and 'White'.

Dylusions Paint in 'After Midnight', 'Calypso Teal' and 'Crushed Grape'.

I loved creating the background, then adding in some leaves, and then filling it in with some white paint.

I was so happy with the result I just had to create it in black!

I again used the Carabelle stencils but also added in this one too by TCW.

and the following paint colours:

Dina Wakley Paint - 'Eggplant' , Turquoise', 'Black', 'White' and 'Peacock'.

Dylusions Paint in 'After Midnight' and 'Calypso Teal'.

I really love the look on the black.

For the next creation, I decided to try and go a bit more pastel, rather than bright.

After creating these above projects, I then had a special delivery of the NEW Tracy Scott Paper Artsy stamps and stencils I preordered.

Well of course I just had to have another play!!

I am IN LOVE with those scribbled flowers!!!

Glorious!!

I used Paper Artsy Paints in 'sargasso', 'beach hut', 'lavender' and 'snowflake'.

Let's take a look at the stencils and stamps I used:

You can find the Tracy goodies HERE.

That's it from me today!!

I can't wait to see your take on our awesome challenge...

Just upload your creation to our Scrap Matrix Shares Page (pop it in the 'Purple and Teal' Album) and let us know in the comments what Scrap Matrix products you used.

I highly recommend it.....especially when teamed with teal!
Va va voom!!

'Gypsy Soul' by Elisa Ablett

Hi everyone,

Elisa here from the design team with my latest layout for Scrap Matrix featuring loads of goodies from the shop and showcasing the March challenge - Teal and Purple.

I love this colour combination so much, I have used it a few times so I am quite comfortable with it, I know there are a few people out there that freak out at purple... but paired with teal, it's amazing.

I was inspired by the Mandala, flowers and feathers in the Challenge Graphic and I just love the awesome floral stamp set by Art By Marlene.

If you haven't seen the challenge as yet, I am sharing the link and graphic below in the hope that you will participate this month, the colours and inspiration is amazing !

Here are some close ups -

I painted the chipboard white and then wrapped some lovely purpley Magenta Sari Silk around the arrow to match the flower colours.

I used a wet on wet technique to add my Inkcredible Ink and Dylusions Ink Spray to my cardstock then I stamped with the stamp set once dry. I then fussy cut my elements out and added white paint using a Posca Paint Pen.

The background was created using a The Crafters Workshop Stencil along with white modelling paste with Ink and Spray over the top.

Then layer all your elements to the left side and balance the page out by using two photos down the right side plus your title. The arrow serves as a focal point to draw your eye to the photos.

Well that's it from me today, I hope you are inspired to give the latest challenge a go!

Hugs
