I tried to be naughty...

 Hi everyone!

It's my turn for my second reveal for this month's challenge.

I chose a Page (again), Stars, Pastels, and Naughty.

It's not really naughty, but I tried.

Actually 'I tried' should be the title of this entry.  I tried to be naughty, I tried to do grungy, I tried to do pastels.  While I do like this page, I didn't exactly achieve what I wanted to.

So here goes,  this I what I did.

I used my small Dylusions journal.  Using a dry brush, I covered the page in Paperartsy's Zucchini.  I wanted the brush strokes to show.

Next I used Lilac. I didn't clean my rush with water, I just wiped the excess Zucchini onto the opposite page.

Blue Bayou was my next colour choice.

I stamped the stars using Carabelle Studios stamp set 'Textures Printing' in Navy Archival Ink...

...followed by sponging Paperartsy's Snowflake through 7 Dots Studio star stencil.

I stamped one of the cats from Carabelle Studios 'Kooky Cats' stamp set and coloured it with Paperartsy's Truffle, Zucchini and White Fire. One dry, I cut it out and glued it to my page.

I sponged Black Soot Distress Ink around the edges of the page.

I finished the page with a sticker from Tim Holtz's Snarky Comments.

>^.^<

I did another page as well. (It's on the opposite page on the abovemention project.)

This time I chose Page, Pastels, Circles and Naughty.

This was done using Dina Wakley paints, Carabelle Studios stamp sets 'Keep Swimming' and 'Round and Around'.  I added some marks and another Snarky Comments sticker.

So that's it for this month.

I'm going to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy and merry Christmas.  May it be filled with love and laughter.  Stay safe if you are travelling.

My mother nominated me to hold Christmas this year.  Just what I love... cooking in tropical heat and humidity. (Thanks Mum). Truthfully though I couldn't be happier.  Hubby will be firing up the BBQ and there will be plenty of food, drinks and laughter. I hope you all enjoy yourselves.  Hug your loved ones.  I'll see you next year.

I would like to paint the way a bird sings.

Hi Everyone!

It’s my turn to share my project for the Either/Or challenge.

I’ve chosen to do a page, brights, circles and nice.

Now bright is a bit of a kryptonite for me, but I’m improving.  So here goes…

First I stuck down some torn serviette into my Dylusions journal. I’ve had these for a while, (I think I got then from Kmart).

Then I sponged DinaWakley paints over the page. I’ve used Lime, Lemon, Ruby, Magenta, Peacock, Tangerine, Evergreen, Blackberry, Lapis and White.

My next step was to sponge more paint through various stencils, (7 Dots Studio and TCW).

Then I drew some circles and blocked out the rest of the page with Apricot. (I regret this; I should have used a different colour. Oh well.)

I did a second coat.  (I still didn't like it.)

I wanted to create a shadow around the circles so I used my Hickory Smoke Distress crayon and blended it with my finger.

I then outlined the circles with a black pen. Adding scribbles and trying my hardest to be messy.  (This is hard for me.) It took a couple more circles before the perfectionist side of my personality would let it go.  (I’m a Gemini; one half chaotic, the other controlling.)

I stamped my leaves around the edges of some of the circles and the two birds in the larger circles in Jet Black Archival Ink. (Paperartsy Stamp Set ESN34).  Some didn’t stamp well and I coloured them in with a black pen.

I added the quote in pen and that’s it. I hope you like it.  I’ll be back later in the month with more to share. I’ll see you then.  Now it’s time to work on my Christmas gifts.

Bye for now.

Jen.

This or That....By Tanya Froud

 Hi Guys!

What a fun challenge this month...so many choices!!!!

I opted for Page, Circles, Pastel, Naughty...

I set myself a little time challenge for this...I allocated 30minutes to create. So I I got busy and tried not to over think it!!
To start I grabbed some Paper Arts Paints (I only had bright colours so I diluted them  with white gesso.
Smeared them on with my fingers. Wiped some paint out with a baby wipe until I liked the background.
Next I grabbed a pot from my desk and smeared paint around the rim and stamped a circle to create a focus area..I did this a few times to create a more messy circle.

I then grabbed a Art By Marline Die cut girl and a snarky quote stuck them down ..and that was it time was up. So I called it done!!!

Why not give yourself a time limit and see what you could come up with!!

Until next time!!!

Either/Or with Tam

 Hello creatives

Tam here today to share my Either/Or page for our current challenge.....

A cutesy page with a touch of naughtiness.....

I selected the following:
Page
Circles
Brights
(I tried to do pastel but I couldn't help myself - me and brights just go together)!
Naughty

First I gathered a few supplies that were circly and appealing to me.

I had no plan - I just opened my art journal and added some pieces of Art by Marlene paper torn into strips from the Collage Paper #3. I also added in some torn words from a magazine.
I adhered with TCW Gel Medium - this is my new fave for sticking down images in my journal - I find using my finger works best and there's no left over residue! YESSS!!!

I then added some 'Ocean' and 'Yellow' in Dina Paints - randomly swiping across the page - they mixed together to form a lovely limey green colour.
Whilst still wet I used the stencil TCW Circle Jumble  and a wet baby wipe to remove some paint.

Immediately I saw hills - so I marked in some hills and then I added some 'lemon', 'turquoise' and 'magenta' into the sky section - couldn't have a green sky and these colours were a bit sunsetty.

I also added some circle background stamps from the Art by Marlene Little Ladies stamp set. There's quite a few circle ones in the pack.

Ok so the background is done, time to start working on what to add to the rest of it...

I love that girl in the stamp set who's leaning to the side - she definitely looks like she's doing a cartwheel - this reminds me of twirling and again has a circly vibe.

I stamped her out onto PaperArtsy Smooth Cardstock 3 times and then added colour.

I then cut them out and adhered them onto the page to look like she was twirling down the hill.

Once I had glued them down with TCW Gel Medium, I felt the background was too muted. I needed some POP so I grabbed my Dylusions neons - these are quite translucent so they're perfect for adding over paint to brighten it up....

Much much better...

The final step was to add in some flowers and grass to the hills, some doodles to the sky and a bit of a naughty quote - the Dylusions Back Chat are perfect for this - you could choose any - most of them fit the naughty brief!

When I saw the one that said
"Does running away from your problems count as exercise?"
I knew it was perfect.
I also added "I'm calling in fat tomorrow"

There you have it - a fun and little bit naughty page.

That's it from me today.
I've already been working on another one for this theme so keep your eyes peeled to that Facebook Shares Page.

December 2020 Reveal!

Hi Everyone!

In a matter of weeks we will be able to say goodbye to 2020, pack up all the good (and the bad) it has brought and put it behinds us.

But first… our December challenge reveal!

So here it is…

EITHER/OR.

You get to choose from the options below and create something.

I know, I know… decisions, decisions.  So many possibilities.  Naughty or nice, stars or circles.  Pastel or bright, cards or page. You get the picture.

Now you can use other elements but it has to include one of each option.

To give you some inspiration here are some of the projects the Design Team has created.

Tammy has created a beautifully bright double page spread…

Tanya has created a wonderful pastel page…

And I (Jen) have also taken inspiration from the bright palette to create a couple of pages.

We have had fun creating and hope to inspire you to go to your crafting space.

There are more wonderful projects to come, so please make sure you regularly visit this site and check them out.

We would love to see your projects, just make sure you list the options you have chosen along with the products from Scrap Matrix you have used and share them on the Scrap Matrix Shares page.

We can't wait to see what you create.  So go on... create something!

Have fun!
