It is my turn up on the blog today with my latest project for the June Challenge - a bright, funky and colourful scrapbooking page with a great quote. I wanted to use a photo of my lovely niece Faith and I think the unique and colourful design of the page and the products suit her personality!

Let's take a look at some of the products used from the Scrap Matrix Store -

4.5x8.5" Tim Holtz - Patchwork CubePainterly Flower 3.0

Die Cut Sheets Set #3 Die Cut Sheets Set #4

and lets take a closer look at the details.

I started with 13Arts water colour inks in the background and then fussy cut and adhered the collage paper shapes over the water colours. I also used a white gel pen to outline the shapes. I also cut some of the collage paper into strips to layer underneath the photo cluster.

I also 'smooshed' water colour inks onto another piece of white cardstock and then once dry I stamped a few of the 'Painterly Flowers' and fussy cut them out and added some white detailing using a white gel pen. Layer around the photo with die cuts from the die cut blocks by Art by Marlene.

Add some detailing to your corners using a black ink pad, a layering stencil and a distress tool. Smooth black ink through the corners of the stencil, fading the ink away further from the corner.  Add a bright and funky banner die cut over the top.

I also twirled some crafting wire and tucked underneath the flower cluster as shown in the main photo. The title was stamped onto white cardstock and then fussy cut out and adhered to the page.

Add a scribbly border to the page as well to add extra interest and you are finished.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, I hope you have enjoyed seeing how my layout came together.

"Illuminate the Dark' Layout by Lisa Amiet

Hello all!

It's Lisa here today to share some crafty goodness with you.

For this project, I have created an 'Art by Marlene' inspired layout,
featuring my daughter and her best friend.

'Illuminate the Dark'

For this layout, I have started with a white cardstock base.
I have given it a coat of 'Dina Wakley Clear Gesso' to seal my page.

I have then used my 'Distress Oxide Spray in Faded Jeans'
mixed with some water to flow around my page.

I have used my heat gun to dry it, as I keep moving the liquid around the area I want it.
This way I get layers of deeper blue and areas of lighter blue.

Then out come some stamps :)

First I have used my 'Art by Marlene -Storms Don't Last Stamp Set',
I have used the flower stamps and my 'Distress Oxide Ink Pad - Faded Jeans',
to randomly stamp around my page.

Next, I have used the 'AAll & Create - Stamp #35'
'7 Dots Studio - Northern Lights Stamp Set'
& my 'Art by Marlene' stamps, using the hearts and crosses,
with my 'Ranger Archival Ink - Jet Black'

Now I need some more layers of goodness.
For this, I have used 'Art by Marlene Collage Papers 3 & 4'.

I have found pieces in the colours I wanted and have adhered them to my page.
Some have been scrunched and tucked in and layered with some gauze.

I have added some 'Vintage Lace 2 - Diane Cream' and then my photo.

I have added a 'Leaf Silver Charm', tucked under the corner of my photo.

I have also used my 'AAll & Create Stamp #35' to stamp a sentiment for my page.

I have then added some
'Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions Creative Diary Back Chat Stickers'
 to my layout.

I have finished with my title,
stamping my 'Art by Marlene - Storms Don't Last Stamps'
sentiment with black ink.

I had a lot of fun with this layout.
It's fun to try something new.

I hope that you like what I have created.

Until next Time!

Lisa

Together by Tanya Froud

Hi There Everyone!!

Tanya here with my last share for the month, for our fantastic Art by Marlene challenge.. I hope you are all playing along, don't forget to share it in the album for you chance to win a fab prize!

I was inspired by the fun flowers and doodles in the flowers and couldn't resist a bright scrapbook layout with these stamps...

To start with I took a piece of 12x12 white cardstock and then using Distress Oxide Sprays  in Spiced Marmalade,  Pickled Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Mermaid Lagoon. I sprayed them onto my craft and mat spritzed with water and then smooshed my cardstock into to the inky puddles. I repeated until I was happy and then dried it completely.

I then stamped some flowers from the Art by Marlene Small Flowers a few times on a white piece of cardstock.  I cut the scribbly roses and set them aside,
For the rest of the flowers I repeated my spray and smoosh with the Distress Oxide Sprays and then dried them fully before fussy cutting them all out.

With the scribbly roses I set aside, I drew thin lines with a black marker as seen in the photos and then cut the middles out with a craft knife.

I then moved back to the cardstock that I had smooshed ink on earlier and drew a partial circle and repeated the pattern I had drawn onto the roses. I did some random stamping from the Art by Marlene Stamp, "Girly Style". I then took my photo ( matted in white and again the doodling pattern repeated) and my flowers and formed a wreath around the partial circle I had drawn.
Once it was all adhered,  I drew a few more doodles to fill in the blank spots and to help tie it all together.

Here are some close ups of all the details....

'Joyful Art' by Elisa Ablett

Hi all,

Elisa here from the design team, back from the Scrapbooking and Papercraft Expo with my first post of June, featuring the lovely Art by Marlene products.

We are half way throught the year already and this month in honour of our special guest at Scrap Matrix, Marlene herself, we are having an Art by Marlene monthly challenge.

Here is the link to the challenge album in the Scrap Matrix Shares group.

Confession time - So, I am a bit of a stamp hoarder and to some of you this will not be a big surprise..... and when I saw Marlene's Bohemian Stamp Set I knew I needed it in my collection. It was the easiest bit of online shopping i've done in a while lol 😂😂😂😂

💲💲💲💲💲💲💲

Here are some of the Art by Marlene products I used to create my art journal page and are available to order and purchase through Scrap Matrix.

Don't forget the close ups!

In this close up you can see the background a bit better, old music paper, torn and gesso'd over then stamping with the Art by Marlene Bohemian Stamp Set and colouring with watercolours for the bottom layer.

Then the next few layers are from the Art by Marlene Die Cuts #3 and Collage paper (elements fussy cut out). Add a bit of doodling with a paint pen or waterproof pen to add extra layers and also shadows and shading with black watercolour and paintbrush OR a black watercolour pencil from the Scrap Matrix Shop.

Last but not least, the title, stamp onto spare music paper with a black versafine or archival ink pad and then fussy cut out and adhere to your page. Outline with a black marker or black ink.

Finished!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, don't forget to add your entries into the June Challenege Album in the Scrap Matrix Shares Group on Facebook.

Hugs

Art journal page "Actually I Can" ... by Lynn Good

Good morning everyone, today I would like to share with you an art journal page that I created for this months challenge - Art by Marlene.

I had just been to the classes held my Marlene and had an awesome time.  I love the way she creates characters out of combining stamps and I thought I would give this a go:

I have used a Art by Marlene Tags (I have cut this one down a little and punched holes in the side so that I can add it to my Art by Marlene Journal

I began by adding white paint and a fluro green paint to the tag and scraping around with an old credit card.  I have then placed TCW Stencil designed by Marlene over the top whilst the paint was still wet and wiped with a baby wipe.  This gave me some texture without the layers.

I have stamped the two images on a separate cardstock.  This is actually a page out of the journal.  As I was away when I created this, it was the easiest way for me.  In future I would use the watercolour paper that Marlene has released - it is so thick and smooth one side and rough the other.  Here is the link - watercolour paper pad

I have coloured the images with Art by Marlene watercolours and fussy cut out.

I have stamped some triangles around the tag from the Stardust Brightens stamp set and added some cut outs on the edge.  These came from the Die Cut Sheets.

I have stamped the saying from the same stamp set - Stardust Brightens and used water colour paint.

I have adhered everything down using matte medium

Here are some close ups:

I have coloured the stars with white Posca Pens

I have used the white Posca pen to add some more details on the cut outs.

to highlight the fish I have used stickles on the hair follicles (not sure what they are!!!)

This is  a wonderful month - there are some many products that Marlene has produces - you can see what is available here

So why not enter this months challenge - you could win a guest spot or a shopping voucher with Scrap Matrix.  All you have to do is upload your project to the Scrap Matrix Facebook Shares album and let us know what product/s you have used that is available from Scrap Matrix.

Til next time - Happy Crafting
