Hi everyone, today I would like to share an art journal page I made for this months challenge - Drip, Spray, Spritz

Here is my page:

I got the new Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays and couldnt help myself but have a play.   They are super awesome and had such fun.  I sprayed and let them do their own thing.

Before drying completely I sponged off with a paper towel roll

Loved it and did one more roll - OH NO - took too much off!!!

So started again - applied gesso and waited for it to dry

Again sprayed the gloss sprays and used a credit card through the Fuchsia colour and splashed with the white

 

Using the white gloss spray and a dauber I made some circles.  The white is opaque and comes up so vibrant.

I have then used some crayons to colour the circles and create shadows around them.

I decided to add some bigger circles - this time using Paper Artsy Snowflake paint.

Once dry I have added some quotes from Tim Holtz Small Talk, Numbers stamp from 13 arts and graphite sticks around the circles and edge of the page.

Turn Mistakes into Beauty with Lisa Amiet

Hello all,

it's Lisa here today to share some inspiration with you. 

I have created this art journal page for this month's challenge

I have used the challenge as inspiration for this page.

I have started with a blank page in my art journal,

a quick coat of gesso to the page to seal it.

I have used my new 'Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays'

in Turquoise for the centre of the page, lots of sprays and splatters.

I have then used my Eggplant spray around the edge of the page.

Then I have used the White spray in the centre, as a base for my girl.

Once this had dried I used the 'Jane Davenport Faces Stamp',

to stamp her face out. 

It has heaps of options for different facial features, 

so I have stamped those also.

I have then used 'Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint in Lemon',

that I have watered down a little to give it some movement,

 and I have painted and dribbled her hair on. 

I have also used the 'Eggplant Spray' to paint her dress,

 and to colour her lips.

Lastly, I have used one of the quotes from the 'Dina Wakley Collage Words',

adhered to the top of my page.

I hope that you like what I have created,

 and that it inspires you to get a little messy this month!

Gloss Sprays.. A bookmark by Tanya Froud

Wow. August...it kinda feels like the longest year known to man dosent it.

With all this extra time at home, I bet lots of books are being read, and who dosent want a pretty book mark to keep your spot!

Today I have created a bookmark using the http://scrapmatrix.com/dina-wakley-gloss-sprays/ and the http://scrapmatrix.com/tracy-scott-ets43/

I started using the http://scrapmatrix.com/smoothy-card-12x12-340gsm/ and cut it down to a 4x6 size. 

I sprayed puddles of gloss spray on a messy Matt and smooshed my card into it repeating with a range of colors. I dried it in between colors and once happy stamped the floral feather. I then fussy cut it out, to make flowers pop I painted some of the Dylusions spray on with a brush and then added a little bit of twine and beads

Getting drippy with Tam

Hello there beautiful people!

Tam here to share my colourful creation for our current 'Drip, Spray, Spritz Challenge'.

This is such a me page.

Colour....drips....mess...

So let's go through the process together...

I began with a layer of gesso.

Recently I scored these gorgeous stamps from Scrap Matrix.

ESA13 Paper Artsy and a Darkroom Door Artist Brushes.

I love the grunginess of them, and knew they could work together so well.

I had a hankering to create a rainbow. 

Whenever I see drips, I think of all the pages I've created that had drippy rainbows.

Time to bring it back me thinks....

I grabbed out my fave rainbow colours in Paper Artsy Paint.

I used:

Cherry Red

Tango

Yellow Submarine

Slimed

China

Electric Violet

I began with Cherry Red, adding a splodge to the centre of the left hand side of the page, 

I then added water and allowed it to drip down the page.

I then turned the page and let it drip the other way too.

Now dry with a heat gun.

Continue this process through all the colours.

Whilst this is drying, stamp and cut out all the brushes from the Darkroom Door Stamp set - Artist Brushes.

I used PaperArtsy Smooth Cardstock for this and black archival ink.

Please note, this ink pad must be waterproof, as we are adding liquid on top and need it to not reactivate.

Now back to our page, I added loads of stamps from ETSA13 for the background.

I added 'journey' all the way across the page.

I then added a few of the circular stamps.

I grabbed a TCW stencil called 'Well Rounded' and rubbed some paint through the paint splat sections.

I kept the colours together, but placed them randomly, ensuring some were half off the page.

Now add splats/flicks of paint again keeping colours together.

If you can't control your splats, cover as you go to ensure they land kind of where you would like.

Now add in the background stamps from the PSA13 set. 

I love these. 

Be careful not to go too overboard, focus the stamps across the centre, coming out slightly.

It's important these look random, so do NOT use a stamp block, just add a touch of ink to a section of the stamp.

It doesn't matter if it smudges, you actually want different depths of ink.

This just helps it all to merge into the background, rather than becoming a focus.

I also added in lots of the stamped word 'Art' and 'Create'.

(forgot to take a pic of this but here's one from the finished piece)

ok let's go back a step...

Now adhere your brushes with Matte Gel medium.

Once adhered, add paint to the brush tips, and a few random bits to the handles

(my brushes are NOT very clean! so I wanted to recreate this)

I also added some splats or blobs to the page next to the brushes to look like paint had landed on the page from the brush.

I added the quote from the Darkroom Door Set...

Lastly, I added some shadows to the brushes using a stabilo.

You could also use black paint....

There you have it!!

This month's challenge is so FUN!

Colour and drips and spritz and spray.

What more could a girl want?
