13 Arts Butterfly Challenge

13 Arts Butterfly Challenge
May 2017

I seriously have not had any spare time to blog about anything - let alone enter a challenge!!!! However, I have challenged a few 13 Arts Aussie fans to participate in this month's challenge at 13 Arts - either the Sketch or the Butterflies ....
so figured I should play along as well.
I have chosen the Butterflies mixed media challenge, using a photo of my beautiful daughter relaxing on the beach in Bali.

Timeless

The background  paper is from the Mental Vacation range, and layered papers creating a frame around the photo are from Colour Basic, Fly Away and Aura Rosa - love the way so many of the paper ranges coordinate together.
First up, I mixed some black gesso with some 13 Arts Magic Powder to create a thick paste and used it through the pretty 13 Arts stencil. We learned this technique from Aida when she visited - and I am so happy with the crisp sharp results you get when you use this thick paste. Thanks Aida!

The butterflies I have fussy cut from a mix of the His & Hers, and the Aura Rosa ranges... and have decorated some chipboard butterflies (from His & Hers) with black gesso and Bronze Glitter Ink.  Once I had completed my layers, I splashed some Black Glitter ink and some Sky Blue Spray around the edges of my design.

Here are a couple of close ups...

Dear 13 Arts! Thanks for getting me excited - and making me 'make time'-  to play along with this challenge.
I really enjoyed it and love how this layout turned out.
Cheers, Vicki. xx
