Powerful Blooms with Tam

Today I've popped in to share some art journal pages with you....

Lots of fun using the new Tracy Scott PaperArtsy Paint colours.

So let's take a look at how this came to be....

Swipe some of the Electric Violet Paint onto your art journal page.
Be random!

Add some Aqua Duck Egg, and then add a touch of 'Little Black Dress' and 'Snowflake', then whilst still wet add the '12x12 Blooming Garden' Stencil by The Crafter's Workshop, and using a baby wipe, rub off paint through this.

Repeat until you are happy with your background.

I then came in with my pencil, and roughly sketched a face...

Now grab some smooth cardstock....I used the NEW PaperArtsy Smooth.
I LOVE IT!

With a sponge, apply paint through the stencil by The Crafters Workshop called '12x12 Blooming Garden'.
I used PaperArtsy Paint in 'Cerulean', 'Cerise', 'Electric violet' and 'Purple Wine'.

Repeat, blending the colours.

I also added in some stamping using the Prima Stamp - Bloom Floral.

I also repeated this process on black cardstock.
The same process, the same colours.
Love this effect!!

Now time to cut them all out.

Time to paint in that face...

Now start adding your flowers.

I added some doodling - on her face, on the leaves and I also added a touch of colour to the black and white stamped flowers

.

Ok, onto the next creation....

I used my fave quick technique, as I was keen to try out a couple of the NEW Tracy Stencils I got at the Scrap Matrix weekend!

I created this one with the new Tracy Scott PaperArtsy colours.....
'Electric Violet', 'Purple Wine', 'Aqua Duck Egg' and 'Cerulean'.

Love that new Tracy stencil - PS157

I dedicate this page to the fun weekend that I was lucky enough to spend with both Tracy and Vicki - we shared many a laugh and many a wine, so this quote from the Word stickers seems very appropriate.

I also created another page.....

For this one I used the NEW stencil PS089
and the following Tracy Scott PaperArtsy paints
Prawn, Jade, Butternut and Zesty Zing.....

After coating the page in white gesso, I then added some of the Prawn and Butternut paint along the top edge of the page.
I then added water and let it drip down.

Love the mess!!

Then with a dry baby wipe, I rubbed paint through the stencil, ensuring I changed colours to get a variegated look...

Now its time to come in with a black pen and a white pen, and add some rough scribbles....

The final step is to add a few flicks of paint and then swipe black paint around the edges and finish off with a quote...

Love those quotes.

Well that's it from me,
I so enjoyed this month's challenge.
I adore colour and blooms!!!

Don't forget to add your entries to the Powerful Blooms album over at the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook page.

Have a blooming wonderful month!!

Luv Tam

Art Journal Page - our Guest Designer Lynn Good

Hi everyone, Lynn here back to share an art journal page I have created this month as a Guest Design Team creator for November.

It is super exciting to be a part of this months awesome challenge - Powerful Blooms.

To me nothing speaks blooms better than Tracey Scott  Paper Artsy Stamps - so this is what I have created.

I began by place random patches of paper artsy paints on my art journal.  I have used Zesty Zing, Tangerine Twist and Cherry Red.

I have then used tissue paper to create some background.

I probably should have done the tissue first so it blended into the background - never fear - I just used my fingers to rub more paint around the edges and it looks blended!!!

I have then used a stencils (listed below) to create some background patterns using the same colour palette - I have done this using Big Brush Pitt Pens and Paper Artsy paints.

I have then used the Paper Artsy stamp by Tracy Scott - ETS28 onto another piece of Dyslusions paper (I have torn it out of the art journal book I am using - just make sure you tear from the centre of a signature so you dont have random pages falling out!)

Once the ink was dry I have fussy cut the stamps and adhered them to the page using Matte Medium Gel

I have gone around the outside of the flowers with a Big Brush Pitt Pen and blended it with my finger.
I have also used a paint pen and added dome doodling around the page.

Final touches include a saying and some black and white in to highlight the centre of the flowers:

Here are some close ups:

SO why not have a go this month:

All you need to do is create a page, scrapbook layout, a card or two, canvas - the list is endless - and upload it to the Scrap Matrix Shares facebook page and let us know what Scrap Matrix Products you have used  - it is that simple!

Til next time - Happy creating

Bloom with Grace.- Tanya Froud

Hi all Tanya Here..

Today I'm sharing a canvas I have created.

First up I painted a face and a background with Paper Artsy Fresco Paints and some TCW stencils.

Next I grabbed some old book paper and water color paper and painted rough circles in a mix off sizes, using Prima Watercolors. Once Dry I stamped some random bits and pieces using Carabelle Studio stamps. I then fussy cut the circles and then dug deep into the stash and found some long forgotten brads and stacked the circles largest to smallest and joined with a brad.

Next i stamped the scribble rose from a set of Art by Marlene and then doodled on it and fussy cut them out. I also stamped a Art Foamy Rose by Art by Marlene using the brayer and paint technique and cut them out.

I then did some paint drips behind where i though my flowers would go before building a flower crown.

So there she is and how she came to life!
I hope i have inspired you to join us in this months challenge..

Hugs x
