Mini Madness for Scrap Matrix. .... Lynn

Hi everyone, Lynn here with my take on this months challenge - and I had a big mental stumbling block on this one that I will explain later on!!

I have done some little cards and tags

I had no idea what to create (My mojo was on holiday I think!). So i thought lets just put some colour down and see what happens.

I thought back to my class with Tracy Scott and did just that with my finger and Paper Artsy Paints

This is the point where it is "ugly" and you need to work through it.  So I start to apply stamps from Tracy Scotts ETS33 and ETS35 sets

No method at all just anywhere.  I then used Paper Artsy Paint - Little Black Dress and blocked out the areas around the stamps.

Starting to like the page a little more at this point - but White Pen is needed:

Loved this but still lacking the lift I was looking for so back to the white pen again - excuse the photos, those that know me know I am only able create at night and not the best photos.

And then I got to the point of - I cant cut this up I love it too much, but it is so busy what am I going to do with it?

So here was my mental stumbling block.  I spent a couple of day just looking at it before take the plunge and putting it in the guillotine!!!

I cut it into small squares for gift tags and rectangles for cards.  I have backed them with cardstock and added some Tim Holtz Small talk stickers to them.

I had some pieces left over so thought I would put them in my art journal page to complete later.
I painted the page with fluorescent orange paint and added the squares and a couple of flip covers to put photos and journalling.

Stay At Home - Art Journal Page by Lynn

Hi everyone, I cant believe it is the start of another month already!  The good thing about that - it is new challenge time!!!!!  This months challenge is a moodboard all about houses.

I have not been one of the ones that have been able to stay home, I have had to go to work each day and as I live in the country live has not been too different for me.

This moodboard was certainly a favourite of mine - colour and houses - what a great combination.
I'd like to take the time to acknowledge the amazing artists and work on pinterest (where all these images are from)
They definitely provide us with sooo much inspiration.

Here is my page

I have created this in my Dylusions Large Art Journal.  After covering the page with gesso I got to play with the new Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays   - Marine, Fuchsia and Lemon.

I love how these paints interact with each other - and the desire to dry was difficult to resist but with being plastic paints heat is not recommended.
As I am not a patient person I decided to use another piece of paper to mop up the excess

I LOVED how it pulled the paint and created texture.  The paint has dried a little and when I pulled the piece of paper off  (I have used Paper Artsy Smoothy cardstock) it lifted the paint in areas which created a real rough feel that I love.- I have put the piece on the right to the side and will use this on my next project later in the month.

While the paint was drying I got a second piece of Paper Artsy Smoothy Cardstock and painted stripes using Dylusion Paints - Tropical Sangria, Sour Appletini, Mango Punch and Lemon Drop.  There are the new colours from Dylusions and are so delicious.

I have then stamped the houses stamp from Paper Artsy ZA40

I have then used Dylusion Paint Pens and Posca white and black pens to colour the images which I adhered to the page.  The title I have stamped with Tim Holtz Block Upper Case stamp and Black Ink.

I have then written around the houses in a black Posca Pen.

Here are some close ups:

You Got This .... art journal page by Lynn Good

Hi Everyone, Lynn here today with an art journal page in my Dylusions Art Journal that I have created for this months challenge inspired by Tanya Froud and her recent fantastic live FB tutorial on the magazine transfer.

Again this is based on the moodboard for this month, which I LOVE:

I first applied gesso to the page and then began applying the colours to the page - I have used Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays - Cheddar, Lime and Lemon

I have used a Finnabair Stencil - Wild Berries and Dina Wakley Heavy Body Paint - Tangerine.  I have applied this with a make up sponge - make sure you use very little paint or it will blob under the stensil.

I have then adhered the magazine image face down to the paper using Matte Medium and left overnight to dry.

The next day I have applied a spray of water to the transfer and rubbed, and rubbed and rubbed - little by little it comes away and reveals the image.  DO NOT rush this process, relax and enjoy the paper transformation.

I applied Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint - Snowflake and Kaisercraft Stained Glass stencil to rub back the paint.

I have then repeated the same thing but this time using black paint

For the finishing touches I have coloured the eyes, lips and added a title and some scribble around the picture.

Here are some close ups:

I loved doing this page and getting messy with the paint.  I hope that you find some inspiration and enter this months challenge at Scrap Matrix.

All the details are on the Scrap Matrix Shares facebook page - but it is super simple to do - create a project, upload a photo of it to the right album in the FB Group and let us know what products you used that Scrap Matrix sells - Easy Peasy and you could win a voucher to buy some awesome products.

Til next time - happy crafting

My take on the Citrus Moodboard .... Lynn

Hi everyone, Lynn popping in to share with you an art journal page that I created for this months moodboard challenge.

I am sure you have seen the moodboard, but in case you havent seen it -

This is definately a colour palette that I like and I have created this art journal page:

I started this page and got so involved with it that I forgot to take step by step photos!!!!

SO I could talk (write steps) you through it but decided I would create another one -

Please excuse the photo - I had no choice but to take it at night as I dont generally see my place in daylight hours in winter with my job - like the art journal page says - "It is going to be ok!"

I began with some pages from the 7 Dots Cotton Candy collection ripped into strips and adhered with Matte Medium

I have then used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint - Butternut and did the stencil wipe off technique shown by Lisa Oxley.  I have used a hexagon shaped stencil by The Crafters Workshop

I have then added Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint - Granny Smith - doing the same thing with the same stencil - caution tho - you must dry between the layers

and as everything needs to be done in 3's or 5's I have added another colour - Zesty Zing

To make all these blend together and push to the background, I have added white "snowflake" Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paint

I have then added a Tissue Image of Dina Wakeley's and framed it with Washi Tape and added the saying "Its going to be okay"

I have coloured the face, eyes and lips with Dina Wakely Paints Sand, Turquoises and Ruby.

Using Dina Wakely's black paint and the same stencil I have added some black around the focal image and a saying that Theresa Collins was giving away as a free download last month.

Using a fudeball black in pen I have done some scribbling around the face and edges of the page.

I hope that I have inspired you to have a go at this months challenge - Crafting under these strange world circumstances can be very soothing for the soul!

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back later in the month with another art journal page

Paper Artsy Month - Art Journal Page with Lynn

Hi everyone, I am up on the blog to share my second page for this awesome month - Paper Artsy month.

I have used Jo Firth Young Stamps - I am so in love with these at the moment - the quirky flowers are really speaking to me

Here is my art journal page

This page started off as a "mop it up" page.  This is where I had brushed off excess paint onto a blank page.

I decided that it looked like the wind going in a direction and would incorporate that in the placement of my "Flowers".
I had gaps to fill in the background and used Paper Artsy Fresco Finish Paints in Bubble Gum, Cherry Red and Zesty Zing  colours.  I have then stamped out the images from JOFY74 as the head of the flower and the stem from JOFY75.

I then got very excited and forgot to take photos!!!!  So I will have to tell you instead!

I have coloured the flowers using Dylusion Paint Pens, as well as a Posca Paint Pen for the White areas and highlighted some of the black areas using a  Tombow Twin Tip Marker Pen

I have also made some marks around the outside of the page to give it a border.

I have taken some close ups which I will detail the extras that I have done (note is now on my desk - "TAKE MORE PROGRESS PHOTOS"!

I have used the White Posca Paint pen to add some white highlights to the flowers and scribbles around the edge if the page

I have added some detail back into the leaves with a black pen.

I have stamped a saying from the stamp set EKC28 by Kay Carley

Well - thanks for stopping by and I hope that you have found some inspiration from my page to create an art journal page, layout or project using a Paper Artsy product and put a photo into our Scrap Matrix Shares Page to be in the draw to win a gift voucher - it is that easy :)
