Blooming Beauty

Hello once again I'm back sharing another project using the
wonderful products available at Scrap matrix.

This time I've done a layout using some of my favourite photos.  These were taken some time ago and feature my beautiful niece. Her birthday is in a few days and I am going to use this to wish her a wonderful birthday.

This months prompt is Powerful Blooms and instantly brings to mind big showy flowers. But, to me, it's that powerful reaction that some flowers evoke.

Pansies remind me of the back path leading to my great-grandmother's little cottage. Snapdragons, sweet peas and marigolds bring back wonderful memories of running around my grandmother's garden as a child.  My other grandmother had a collection of orchids and African violets that would make any gardener's heart swoon. All little flowers but powerful memories.

So with those wonderful memories on my mind I decided to do this layout.
Here is a list of products you'll need.

First I chose two pieces of complimenting papers from 7 Dots.(I love how most of the collections match with each other.) I tore one roughly in half and attached it to the top of the other and covered it with gesso.  Then using my stencil and modelling paste I went over the join. I was going to sprinkle a little glitter over the paste but of course that was when my husband came home early and gave me a fright. Glitter everywhere! Oh well, I like a little sparkle in my life. I left it to dry.

Having chosen my colours I dabbed the pinks using a brush  over the page and spritzed them with water to make them run. Well it was a bit too pink for me, so I also sprayed on some Clam Bake Beige. This toned it down and added a lovely shimmer. I stamped some of the flowers randomly over the page making sure I only got the flowers and not the stems.  I also stamped these onto white cardstock and coloured some with Rose Quartz using a brush. I wanted some white space on them so it was done haphazardly.

I cut some strips from another piece of 7 Dots paper, (I'm sorry I didn't take note of which ones I used), and attached them to the page. I placed a few tags and die cuts from 7 Dots and the fussy cut flowers around my photos until I was happy with the layout.  I looped the cord through one tag and around the page then glued everything down. I added  the sequins and splatters of White Linen and Slate grey.

Lastly I added the quote stickers also from 7 Dots Studio.

There you have it, another project done and dusted.

Happy Birthday Chelsea!

Jen.

Double layout - A year in review ... By Lynn

Hi everyone, today I would like to share the details of my layout for this month's challenge -

A year in Review

Here is the moodboard

We have decided this month to give the "double scrapbookers" some inspiration and have created a double layout:

I have used the paper collection - Garden Party by 7 Dots for the background.

I have inked a plain piece of water colour paper using Dylusion ink sprays - Funky Fuschia, Black Marble, Lemon Zest, Cut Grass and Crushed Grape.

I have then stamped the entire background using the flower stamp by Art By Marlene.  I have also stamped some circles and added splatters to give more texture detail.

Then the job of fussy cutting!!!!!  I did the same process with the leaves as I did with the flowers.

I have then also stamped the same images on the background paper to align with where my photos are going.

I have double backed by photos (I couldnt decide which colour to use to used both!).  I have used the Ideology alpha stamp in lower case for my title.

Here are some close ups:

Lynn's "Framed" Layout

Hi everyone, today I am sharing my "framed" layout.  This months challenge is open to many interpretations - and lots of options.   For my "frames" I have framed the outside of the layout with circle stamps,  I have framed the insider layer with stamps and the tags behind the photo has been created used a framed stencil set.  There is also a metal frame under the cluster of flowers.

I have used Tracey Scotts Paper Artsy stamps around the edges in red ink and in the centre with black ink.   The paper is 7 Dots Illumination Paper. I have also stamped the same images on a seperate piece of paper.

The images I stamped on a seperate piece of paper,  I have coloured in and cut out.  These will be placed over the images stamped on the layouts so all the stems will be in place but fussy cutting around them not necessary!

With the squares behind the photos, I have cut paper to match the size of the mini stencils and then used white ink and a makeup sponge.  Once the ink was dry I have gone around the edges with a fudeball pen,

I have randomly added some bling on the ends of the stamps

I have added some flowers, micro beads and a square metal frame.

Products Used:

Paper Artsy Stamp - ETS01

"The Point Is" layout by Lynn

Morning all, today I am sharing my layout that I have created for this months challenge - "the point is"

I have used the "points" of the arrows to direction you to the photo. I have also used the 7 Dots Dreamscapes stencil - triangles and some Paper lace with points.

I did process photos to share with you but technology got the better of me and they are somewhere in cyber space!

So i have done a few close ups and will explain what I have done:

The paper collection I have used is 7 Dots Paint Chip Collection which includes the die cuts and stickers.  The stencil is from 7 Dots Dreamscapes collection and I have used Ranger Archival Inks with a foam sponge.

The title is from 13 Arts - Secret Letter collection

I have stamped the background with AALL & Create Stamp # 30

I have used a white paint pen to add scribbles and doodles to the tags and stickers around the layout.

Lynn's Tic Tac toe monochromatic layout

Hi Everyone,  Today I am on the blog to share my layout created with this months challenge - TIC TAC TOE as well as monochromatic.  My chosen colour is purple - some people love it, some people hate it. It has always been my favourite colour.

Here is the grid:

Just follow a line - up, down or diagonal - I have used the bottom line - Chippie Shape, German Scrap and Paper Flower

I have used the paper collection Northern Lights by 7 Dots.

I began by applying texture and marks - I have used whipped spackle and a 13 arts stencil.  Once dried I have coloured the background with 13 arts Ayeeda Paint - Pink, Indigo Noilet and Lilac.
Stamping has been randomly done with the gorgeous stamp designed by our own Australian Fiona Paltridge for AALL & Create

I have then used some embossing powder Silver Moon Sapphire (Lindy Stamp Gang)

Here are some close ups:

Remember you can team it with neutrals, and to follow one line on the grid -
The line can be up, down, or diagonal.

To be in the challenge you only have to add your project to the Scrap Matrix Shares group on Facebook, and let us know which Scrap Matrix products you used.....it's not necessary to have a blog, just add your entry to the current challenge album.

Holiday Moodboard Layout - Lydia

Lydia back to share my project this month to go along side this months moodboard challenge.

This month I decided to go down my path and create a scrapbook layout again. I found this challenge easy and I love how the layout turned out.
With this months project I seemed to have focused on the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio collection "Escape The Ordinary" which is perfect for those beach holiday images.

I love this collection because it gives an arty feel while still being the traditional scrapbooking paper and embellishments. As the main feature of the layout I used some of the patterned papers from the collection and simply cut out some tags. I embellished using the collections puffy stickers and normal cardstock phase stickers.

For my main title I used a Blue Fern Studio wood veneer 'On the Road'. I didn't embellish or decorate this wood veneer as I quite liked the raw look of it, but it could easily be painted or inked etc.

Again I used some of the pattered paper from collection to give the layout a type of border and I also added some small embellishments including again some puffy stickers and cardstock phase stickers.

I did add some white thread to all the tags to give the whole layout some texture and white on white feel.

I really love how this layout turned out and it was fun to play with some paper again.
Be sure to head over to the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook group to be able to enter this months challenge and I can't wait to see the entries.

Hope you have a great time creating.
